This family owned boutique hotel reflects a rich design and the ultimate in comfort and luxury. The hotel reflects the land in which it was once built, back in the 18th century when it once started as an old warehouse.

Today the remains from the old ancient walls still stand as decor around the hotel. From the second you enter this hotel you feel the sense of intimacy and luxury. Being a large hotel, you do not notice the vastness of it due to the intimacy offered when you first enter the hotel.

The hotel is divided into a new and old division. Although subtle in difference, it is recommended to ask for a room in the newer division, as we were fortunate enough to have.

Our room was modern and very warming, from the soft duvet covers on the bed to the heated floors in the bathrooms. His and her bathrobes are provided and are the perfect touch for a romantic night after relaxing in the very spacious over-sized tub. An added feature is adjustable lighting in the room to set the mood.

For others, it is also important to note that the rooms offer a CD player and free high-speed Internet access. Most rooms also offer either a balcony or a terrace, with some having views of the St. Lawrence River.

The hotel also offers a fine dining restaurant and bar/lounge surrounded by 3 fireplaces. The restaurant's name is Panache and the interior, with its large wooden beams, offers a very cozy and elegant dining experience. Like many fine dining restaurants in the city, the prices are steep.

The bar/lounge is very chic and is located right off the front lobby down some stairs. The backdrop of the bar, like most of the hotel, is a lighting display that alternates through the colour spectrum and definitely sets you in a chilling kind of mood. The 3 fireplaces in the lounge area can also have that relaxing kind of feel. The bar offers some food up until 11pm, with prices a little less than the restaurant. We highly suggest the macaroni and cheese with mushrooms; the best we have ever had.

As for the hotel staff, they are more than willing to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The Auberge Saint-Antoine is one of those hotels you feel lucky to stay at because it does offer more than just a bedroom; it offers an experience, and one you definitely want to be a part of. Hands down one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.
