Came across this on the web…before the Indian Wells Master Series event a female reporter in a pre-tournament interview asked Andy Roddick about his love life, kinda funny, seeing Andy is quite quick witted and has a funny sarcastic humour.  It’s half way through the video after Roddick talks about Djokovic [video].

I’m getting pretty annoyed the last couple of weeks, as I’m finding that I am getting a lot of comment spam on my blog entries.  Every morning I wake up and see like 10 of my entries have been spammed with useless comments of a word or two with weird URLs.

It started with traceback alerts and then comments.  I shutdown comments and forced users to login to comment, but I was still getting them.  I took the site down for a few days and when I brought it back up it didn’t take long to get hit again.

I read online about something called Traceback Spamming and how they attack WordPress blogs.  It made me look through some of the blogs that keep getting hit and I realized that I didn’t turn comments and tracebacks off properly, which was odd cause I thought I did so for every entry.

Anyhow, I now set things up right I hope and I have a spam filter setup, so we’ll see what happens in the next few days.

After over two months of haggling and damaged or incorrect parts, SEARS finally came for the last time yesterday and installed our new freezer door, which was in fine condition.  The installation took less than 10 minutes and now we can say we are done with SEARS.  Needless to say, you won’t see us buying anymore big ticket items from SEARS, way too painful.

So I woke up this morning ready to go.   Seeing I didn’t move since Friday night I knew I had a challenge ahead of me.  That was probably the most snow I have ever moved at one time, it was up to my waist nearly for the most part.  My piles are now taller than I am!  Anyhow, that’s done with and now I am resting the rest of the day seeing I can’t move anymore.  I tried to jump in the jacuzzi but that didn’t help the sore muscles.  I really hope that’s it now, no more snow please!

Will the snow ever stop?  This has to be one of the worst winters in years in terms of snow and the last 2 days sums it all up.  Like every other day pretty much I have been shovelling here, and without a paved driveway it makes things worse.  We’re lucky we have no one living next to us, so I can just dump some extra snow there, cause my piles are taller than I am now.

Looks like this year we will have the most snow in over 70 years in Toronto and this one storm since last night will break the total snowfall record for all of March!  Anyhow, just a couple of pics, which really don’t do the situation justice:

I haven’t shovelled yet today and I just looked out the window…looks like I got a fun morning ahead of me. :(

Haven’t posted for a while so some people were wondering if we are still alive.  Honest truth, nothing special has really happened.  Keeping busy still unpacking stuff at the house.  Bought a Blackberry Pearl, which has kept me busy too.  Pretty cool gadget, getting used to all of its many features.

Aside from that we’ve done some more wedding stuff.  Aleen found a florist, we registered for our tuxes and we also booked our honeymoon.  The latter was probably the most fun of all the wedding things so far.  We booked a 1-week all-inclusive trip to the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia.  We’ve always been intrigued by the island’s exotic landscape, but the cost has always been a bit higher than what we normally wanted to spend on an “average” trip, but since this is for our honeymoon, we decided to splurge a bit and make sure it’s a trip to enjoy and remember.

With the wedding being in September and that still being hurricane season, we delayed the trip until the end of November this way we avoid any disappointment.  With the recent crappy weather here, wouldn’t mind going on that trip now!

Finally, SEARS came today and brought a non-defective dishwasher door!  The same repair guy as last time, real nice guy, the door looks good, so now we can finally try out the dishwasher.

The freezer door is on back order until March 10, so we’ll have to wait until then.  Not everything can be perfect. :)

Funny, our wedding photographer liked our engagement photos so much that they added us to their samples page online, check them out here. Although as I write this we are known as “Jennifer & Carlos”.  Aleen can pass for a “Jennifer”, but I don’t think I can swing as a “Carlos”. :)

Every once and a while you feel like helping someone else out.  Tonight when we came home I noticed our neighbour across the street having to shovel through snow all by herself.  But not just normal snow, but the pile left in front of your driveway by the snow ploughs.

At first Aleen and I went inside, but from my window I could see her struggle through the half snow, half ice mix.  I felt bad, so I got dressed and grabbed a shovel and offered to help her.  Seeing that we are also new to the neighbourhood, it was a good chance to introduce myself and make friends.  Anyhow, spent 20 minutes doing that and I felt good that I did my good deed for the day.

For a change I think we had a good day around the house.  The day started off with Culligan coming in and installing our water softener and chlorine filter.  The water is very hard up here in Stouffville.  Calcium build-up on our faucets, dishes, etc., plus every time you use the water your hands become dry and scaly.  The installation went fine and so far we have already noticed a slight difference.  It will take a day or two as we need to use up first whatever is still in the hot water tank, but then it should be paradise. :)

Then over the weekend we picked up our window shades and blinds.  Seven pleated shades for upstairs, one aluminum blind for the bathroom and a vinyl blind for our sliding door.  I’m not the handyman by a long shot, but I thought I’d try this one out on my own as we were getting tired of having nothing covering our windows or having old blankets instead.

I tried one window in our guest room and that seemed to go well, so then I tried another, then another, … etc.  Anyhow, three hours later I had put up the seven pleated shades in all our rooms (plus redoing one window as I messed it up).  We are very pleased with the way they look and I think I did a pretty good job seeing it was my first time.  Maybe I will try the last two blinds in the days to come, which I think will be more of a challenge.

Anyhow, I think it’s been a good day, hopefully there are more to come.
